What the app and HBS Cloud do with your data, and what stays on your PC.

What stays on your PC
Your games, timers, pictures, settings and activity log are stored on your PC only. Your Roblox API key is stored on your PC, encrypted with Windows for your user account. The app sends it only to Roblox, never to us.
Your license
When you activate the app, and then about once a day, it sends your license key to Polar to check that it is valid. Polar sells RoUpdater for us as merchant of record and handles your order, payment, taxes and invoice. For that data, Polar's own privacy policy applies.
HBS Cloud
If you click Connect with Roblox (optional; available once Roblox approves it), the app uses HBS Cloud, our service that runs your countdowns, sales and name changes while your PC is off. Your API key never goes to HBS Cloud. For that we process:
Your Roblox user ID and username, and which accounts, groups and games you allowed on Roblox's page. The access tokens Roblox gives us for your connection, stored encrypted. Your plans: game IDs, times, the IDs of the countdown pictures, the names and descriptions you planned, the game passes and developer products in a sale and their prices. A scrambled fingerprint of your license key, so one license has one cloud account (not the key itself). Technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
We use this only to do what you planned in the app. Legal basis: providing the service you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and running it securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not sell your data, show ads or use analytics or tracking.
How long we keep it
When you disconnect from Roblox or remove your license in the app, your Roblox tokens are deleted and cancelled at Roblox, and your planned countdowns, sales and name changes stop. Finished plans are deleted 60 days after they end. Your cloud account is deleted when you ask us.
Who processes data for us
HBS Cloud runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which may process data outside the European Union under the EU standard contractual clauses. Polar handles purchases as described above. Roblox receives what the app sends to change your games; Roblox's privacy policy applies there.
Update check
Once a day the app reads a small file from this website to see whether a new version is out. Like any page visit, this is processed by our web host as described in the website privacy notice.
Children
RoUpdater is made for game developers. If you are under 16, your parent or guardian has to agree before you buy or use it.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, have its use restricted, receive it in a portable format, and object to its use. Write to info@highbudgetstudios.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.
